Major Accomplishments from July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007
1. Completed a Branding Process under the leadership of Beth Millett of Borshoff Johnson Matthews and Shawn Wilkie of Young & Laramore
2. Received funding from the Nina Mason Charitable Trust to develop The Using Storytelling as an Educational Tool
3. Received funding from the Indianapolis Foundation to increase the visibility of Storytelling Arts of Indiana through print media, electronic communications and guest appearances by storytellers at community events.
4. Increased the number of students who attended the Annual Hoosier Storytelling Festival by 51%.
Major Programs from July 1, 2006 through June 30, 2007
1. Produced the Ruth Lilly Hoosier Storytelling Festival, October 11 – 14, 2006
2. Participated in two Spirit & Place events in collaboration with the Indianapolis Museum of Art and Heartland Truly Moving Pictures.
3. Awarded the Frank Basile Emerging Stories Fellowship to Hope Baugh and Bob & Kathie Myers.
4. Commissioned Sharon Kirk Clifton to develop and premiere the story, At Home and in Harm’s Way: the Role of Indiana Women in the Civil War in collaboration with the Indiana Historical Society.
5. Presented six solo storytelling performances for adults at the Indiana History Center Basile Theater
6. Co-presented eight family storytelling performances in collaboration with the Monroe County Public Library, the Indianapolis-Marion County Public Library, and St. Joan of Arc School.
7. Collaborated with Indy Parks & Recreation to present 33 storytelling performances in the neighborhood parks during the months of July and August.
