Major Accomplishments from July 1, 2010 - June 30, 2011
- Secured four planned gifts for Storytelling Arts of Indiana Endowment Trust.
- Presented the Second Annual Liar's Contest in collaboration with the Indiana State Fair.
- Commissioned Kevin Stonerock to develop and premiere the story, Steamboat Tales in collaboration with the Indiana Historical Society.
- Commissioned Sally Perkins to develop and premiere the story, Hugged by These Walls in collaboration with Indiana Landmarks. This is a new collaboration. Each year, Indiana Landmarks and Storytelling Arts of Indiana will commission a story based on a place in Indiana.
- Awarded the Frank Basile Emerging Stories Fellowship to Jennie Kiffmeyer of Richmond and Celestine Bloomfield of Indianapolis to each develop and premiere a new story for adults.
- Participated in the Spirit & Place Festival in collaboration with the Indiana Historical Society, IndyFringe Theatre and Big Car.
- Presented seven solo storytelling performances for adults.
- Presented four storytelling performances for families including Scary Stories.
- Presented Jabberwocky, a monthly event in collaboration with IndyFringe Theatre.
- Sponsored a stage during the IndyFringe Theatre in August 2010.
- Weekly storytelling at Riley Children's Hospital. Storytellers visit the bedside of the patients sharing stories and songs.
- Monthly As I Recall Storytelling Guild Meetings at the Glendale Branch Library open to the general public. Participants listen and share their family stories. Received funding from the Central Indiana Senior Fund to expand this program during the 2011 - 12 season to two new locations - The Indianapolis Senior Center and the Hancock County Public Library in Greenfield.
- Secured funding to re-instate Summer Storytelling in the Neighborhood Parks during the month of July 2011.
