Storytelling Arts Endowment
The Story Lives On...
In 1993, Paul Madar, the sound engineer for the Hoosier Storytelling Festival, gave us a check for $75. He told us we could not cash it until we created an endowment. Two years later, one was formally incorporated. The endowment is managed by Central Indiana Community Foundation and has grown to over $450,000 as of June 2026. Each year, the Board of the Endowment - former board members of Storytelling Arts of Indiana - meet to review the financials and transfer five percent of the interest to our operating fund.
You can donate, transfer stocks or make a planned gift to us. Cash donations can be made securely online here. We’ll gladly accept checks too. Just make it payable to “Storytelling Arts of Indiana” and mail it to 450 W Ohio St., Indianapolis, IN 46202.
If you wish to transfer stocks to the endowment, please contact ronan@storytellingarts.org for our account and tax identification numbers.
Planned giving is easier than you might think and can accomplish both your financial and philanthropic goals. The most popular gift is a charitable bequest, which can be made with a fixed amount or percentage of your estate, such as a portion of your IRA. Donors participating in our planned-giving programs will receive special recognition in our Epilogue Circle and invitations to private events.
